About Us

A FUN AND DYNAMIC LEARNING EXPERIENCE

The illustrious and colorful D. Parke Gibson Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) produces future leaders in the public relations industry.

The PRSSA D. Parke Gibson Chapter was founded in 1985 by Debra Miller and is the first Historically Black College or University chapter within PRSSA. Our organization is a pre-professional, student-run organization with nearly 375 chapters across the nation.  We are named after D. Parke Gibson, a pioneer in multicultural public relations as well as the founder of the first black-owned PR firm, D. Parke Gibson International, in New York in 1960.

We are located within the Cathy Hughes School of Communications (CHSOC) at Howard University in Washington, DC.
