The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a pre-professional, student-run organization with nearly 375 chapters across the nation; producing future leaders in the public relations industry.

 

Founded by Debra Miller in 1985, our D. Parke Gibson Chapter of PRSSA is located within the Cathy Hughes School of Communications (CHSOC) at Howard University in Washington, D.C., becoming the first HBCU chapter of PRSSA.

 

D. Parke Gibson was a pioneer in multicultural public relations, founding the first Black-owned PR firm (D. Parke Gibson International) in New York City in 1960.
